Mayweather Vs. McGregor

Yes, the biggest fight to happen to boxing in the last ten years because honestly, no one cares about boxing anymore ever since the UFC took the stage happened last night and the undefeated professional boxer won. Who saw that coming? Everyone. Sorry, Connor, I was cheering for you, but deep down I knew that there was no way they were going to let Floyd Mayweather, arguably one of the best boxers to ever compete, lose to a guy with no professional boxing matches and let Mayweather finish anything other than 50-0.

I really wanted McGregor to win. I think MMA is a much more exciting and amazing sport seeing as it includes boxing, judo, jiu-jitsu, and countless other martial arts all rolled into one match. Boxing has just become outdated. It’s entirely point based and it’s not exciting. Unfortunately, the UFC has been taking steps towards that too, where fighters will go in not with the mentality of putting on a great fight and getting a knockout or submission, but many just fight for points. Luckily though, there are many who still look to put on great fights which keep the sport from essentially turning into boxing.

But let’s be real here, the true winner in all this is Connor McGregor. Without ever having a professional boxing match, he took on Floyd Mayweather and had the best hype up game of any boxing match in recent history, and walked away with $30 Million dollars after he LOST. Think about that. Getting paid $30 Million even if you lost. Yeah, I wouldn’t be too upset either. Plus, one thing I love about McGregor is that he’s willing to try. He will throw his hat in any ring just for the shot. Going back to one of the rules to success of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Connor is not afraid to fail. In my book, I don’t think anyone can say he failed last night.
