Novel Titles and Harry Potter

I’m close to finally being finished with my first novel, Taking Chances. I’ve printed it out and am doing my last run through for any mistakes and edits that need to be made. I’ve also been sending out query letters to various agents and publishers, but that endeavor has proven fruitless. I’m looking at self-publishing through Amazon again. It’s an easier route to go in terms of publishing, just harder on the marketing end because I essentially have to do it all myself.

I’m also considering other titles for the novel. I’m not 100% sure if Taking Chances is the right one to go with, so I’m open to suggestions. I’ve been playing around with a few but nothing is sticking. I can’t find another that suits it better, so far.

On another note, I just started the Harry Potter series. Yes, I know, I’m a bit late. I saw the first two movies but I never read any of the books and I’ve been told that I have to at some point. I just finished another book by Stephen King and couldn’t decide what to read next so I went with HP. Stephen King to Harry Potter, what a likely jump in genres. Who saw that one coming?

Between my two jobs, editing the novel, and training it’s been tough to write anything so I’m going to write blogs on any day that I cannot work on a story or an article. Like most English degree holders, I currently work a minimum wage job post-grad. However, I’ve just gotten hired elsewhere and will be making more there, thank God. I’m continuing to look around but this will work for the time being. It will give me more time to write while still making money.

I’m looking forward to getting the novel finalized so I will be hopefully publishing it in the next two months, so be on the lookout! Also, please check out my profile on Wattpad. It’s a terrific site that allows writers to post their work and get feedback from readers, all while allowing you to also read thousands of stories on there for FREE! My entire novel is currently posted there. Check it out and feel free to leave me some feedback and share with your friends!
