I’ve finally started a new short story. After taking a month-long hiatus, I sat down and began a story that I’ve wanted to start for a while now and have been doing nothing but thinking about. It has a long way to go but the first two pages are there. In one sitting, I wrote nearly 800 words that had decent backstory and development.
Ever since I started reading Michael Connelly novels, I’ve wanted to write some crime fiction and that’s what I’m doing. Like I’ve said before, I believe the easiest way to test out a genre is to start with short stories and work through them. I’m not sure how many pages or words this one will be, I’m just hoping it’ll be a good read and enjoyable.
