I’ve made a little progress working my way through the first edit of Frigid Nights (Sirens). While I’m about halfway through, the first edit is primarily grammar and phrasing along with the overall plot and character development. In the second and third edits are when I actually attempt to enhance the plot and smooth out some areas so everything works better. That’s also when I’ll likely be adding a little more to the story, probably at least a chapter or two.
I haven’t worked on my short story in about a week. I need to get back to that. I’ve been a little busy with work and with the holidays here, my days off are usually consumed by other obligations and responsibilities so I haven’t had much time to work on the story. I’ll have to start working on it in smaller doses so I make that steady progress but in smaller increments.
When you write, do you tend to write in large infrequent chunks or at a consistent pace with smaller pieces? I aim to write something every day and work recently has had me doing a lot of writing so that’s where most of my effort has gone but I need to make time for the stuff I need to write. I want that short story and Sirens to come out the best they can and I’m going to need to motivate myself and get after it.
